Step back in time to the world of Triceratops.
Melbourne Museum recently acquired the most complete and well preserved Triceratops fossil in the world! Their aim was to connect visitors to the forgotten world of the Cretaceous period and hint at what life might have been like for Triceratops.
This immersive experience included many interactive and story driven exhibits that I was responsible for storyboarding, conceptualising and visually bringing to life while working closely with in house teams and a real life paleontologist!

Hidden details
Using dials to drive beautiful looping 3D animations, visitors can discover the insights hidden inside each section of the Triceratops fossil.

Prototyping
Working with paper and test projections we got a feel for the spatial layout, while blocking out storyboards for each fossil piece.
1 chance in billions...
We used the mechanic of spinning a 'wheel of chance' to emphasize how rare it is to find fossils as intact as the Triceratops on display.
Storyboarding
In combination with illustrator Rebecca Dart, we blocked out the projected scenes to ensure they showcased the dinos but also added excitment and unexpected moments.
